Volkswagen is recalling 260,000 small cars for fire risk

Volkswagen is recalling over 260,000 compact cars in the US due to a potential fuel leak in the gas tank. The affected models include various Volkswagen Golf, Golf GTI, Golf Sportwagen, Jetta, and Audi A3s from 2015 to 2020. Only front-wheel-drive versions are included. The issue arises from an improperly installed seal around a suction pump near the gas tank, which may lead to fuel accumulation and leakage. Although no fires have been reported yet, VW will replace the pump free of charge through their dealership network.
